Verner Panton was born in 1926 in Gantofte, Denmark. After his studies in Odense, he moved to Copenhagen, in 1947, to study architecture at the Royal Academy.

Panton’s most well known design is his “Panton Chair”, which was designed in 1960. It was the world’s first one-piece molded plastic chair and was an instant success with its sleek shape and bright colours. Panton's design style is bold and visionary. He worked with high-tech materials, playful shapes and arrays of strong colours, until entirely new and different design idioms emerged.
