Arne Jacobsen, born 1902, is one of the most important Scandinavian architect and designers, known from his furniture designs such as the Egg, the Swan, the Ant and the Seven chair. Jacobsen received his professional qualification from the Royal Academy of Art in 1927 and spent most of his career working with architecture.

In Jacobsen’s most famous project, the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen 1958, he not only designed the building but also the interior details from textiles, lightings, cutlery, furniture and more. Artistically, Jacobsen managed to create objects with a timeless appeal by blending organic and sculptural forms with the Scandinavian design tradition focused on material and structure
